Furniture Assembly in Jacksonville, FL

IKEA, Wayfair, Amazon, Costco, Pottery Barn — we've assembled them all. FixAway turns a box and an Allen key into a finished piece, usually in a fraction of the time it would take you, and we leave the cardboard bagged at the curb.

Bedroom & Living Room

Beds, dressers, nightstands, wardrobes, sofas, sectionals, recliners, bookcases, and TV consoles. We bring the right tools — hex sets in metric and imperial, ratcheting screwdrivers, rubber mallet, and clamps. We follow manufacturer instructions but also know the common factory mistakes (mislabeled panels, missing dowels) and work around them.

Beds (platform, storage, adjustable bases)
Dressers and chests of drawers
Wardrobes and armoires
Sofas and modular sectionals
Recliners and lift chairs
TV stands and media consoles

Office & Storage

Office desks, standing-desk converters, file cabinets, bookcases, garage shelving, and closet systems. Standing desks need careful base assembly to avoid wobble — we level the feet on uneven floors. Closet systems (ELFA, ClosetMaid, Container Store) require precise wall-anchoring; we use the right anchor for drywall, plaster, or block walls common in older Jacksonville homes.

Filing cabinets and credenzas
Bookcases and library walls
Closet systems and pantry shelving
Garage racks and pegboards
Modular storage cubes

Outdoor & Specialty

Patio sets, gazebos, swing sets, trampolines, sheds (wood and metal), grills, basketball goals, and pool equipment. Outdoor jobs scale up fast — a 10x12 metal shed is a 4–6 hour build for a team of two. We provide an honest estimate before you commit and bring extra hands when the job calls for it.

How A Typical Appointment Works

Every furniture assembly visit starts with a scope review focused on bedroom & living room and office & storage. We confirm access, existing conditions, and the most efficient order of work before starting so your project stays predictable and aligned with your priorities.

During the job, we communicate progress and any adjustments in plain language. At completion, we run a functional check, share care recommendations, and clean the work area so your space is fully usable.

If additional issues are discovered mid-visit, we explain options with clear tradeoffs so you can decide whether to complete everything now or stage the remaining scope in a follow-up plan.

This planning-first approach keeps scope transparent, reduces return visits, and helps homeowners align labor time with budget and scheduling constraints.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does furniture assembly cost in Jacksonville?

Single-piece small items (nightstand, chair): $50–$100. Medium items (dressers, beds, desks): $100–$175. Large items (sectionals, wardrobes, large beds): $175–$300. Outdoor sheds, swing sets, gazebos: $250–$650. Multi-piece bundle pricing available.

Do you bring tools or should I have them ready?

We bring everything. The Allen keys included with most flat-pack furniture are awful — we use ratcheting drivers and proper hex bits that get the job done in half the time without rounded screws.

Will you remove the boxes?

Yes — included in every job. We break down cardboard, bundle plastic, and stack everything neatly at your curb for trash day. If you want it hauled to a recycling center, we can do that for an additional fee.

Can you anchor furniture to the wall for child safety?

Yes — and we strongly recommend it for any tall dresser, bookcase, or wardrobe in a kid's room. We use the right anchor for your wall type (drywall toggles, masonry sleeves) and the strap that comes with your furniture.

I bought used furniture — can you reassemble it?

Yes. Used IKEA and similar pieces can lose strength when reassembled because the cam-locks and dowels wear. We replace any damaged hardware and use wood glue at joints to restore rigidity. About 10% more work than a new build.
